Spring Cleaning Ritual: Out, damn winter!
by Hillary Hazan-Glass
After this long winter, I’m ready as ever to welcome Spring. Begone, snowsuits and mismatched mittens. Adios, Artic Front. This year I’m rolling out the red carpet for the impending Equinox and beginning a slow and steady spiritual thaw until the sun and moon are in balance. Here’s a quick tip for awakening your inner Spring and manifesting your desires.
Spring cleaning is probably the most common ritual of all, so why not turn it into something more deeply cleansing. This one’s not just for the floors, but for the spirit too. My dear friend Sharon, who may very well personify Mother Earth herself, swears by this, and I can’t wait to give it a go this week.
Try mixing some regular mopping water with hints of lavender, tea tree, or tangerine essential oil. While cleaning the floors call out the things in your life that you’d like to sweep out too. Let it all go and literally sweep it out the door! [Ed note: one of our friends mops her spa with Young Living’s “Abundance” oil—talk about sending the universe a message through your chores.]
Once you’ve completed your “cleaning,” call in what you’d like to fill your home with. I’m shooting for fun, joy and balance, even if that last one is a long shot. Happy Spring, mamas!
